When I first realized I wanted to do photography as a career, I knew that I would eventually want to shoot weddings as my main work. But joining all my photography FaceBook groups and really learning the business scared me a little. Weddings seemed like the Olympics or photography and many people cautioned taking your time getting into that particular field. But back in August, I KNEW I wanted to shoot weddings after attending my uncle's wedding.
So, I posted on a Chicago Wedding Photographer group asking if anyone would be willing to let me second shoot for them. By some stroke of luck, a crazy talented photographer answered me and booked me for a wedding. From the moment I met her, I knew we'd be great friends. She is one of the most kindhearted, caring, sweet people I've ever met. She teachers and mentors me and makes me laugh in the process.
I've got some dates that I'm second shooting with her, but I'm also looking forward to shooting my own weddings as well. I've shot a few weddings on my own, and a few as a second shooter and I'm looking forward to so many more to come.
